Sevenoak Design Journal

Just got back from a weekend in the Lakes; here’s a small selection of the many hundreds of photos I took (literally hundreds; I find if I take loads, one or two turn out ok!).

So… Where Are The Lakes?

Ah, yes :) Well, I like taking photos of strange objects, and the camera’s battery ran out just before we got to lake Windermere! These photos were mainly taken around Morcambe Bay (south Lake District). The tower in photo #2 is on the tidal marsh on the edge of the Bay; either a strange old lighthouse, or a wizard’s hideout. Not sure which. The boat in photo #4 was also sitting on the marshes just next to the shoreline, apparently abandoned for quite a while — you can see that the cabin has fallen off and overturned. The hull was wooden and breaking apart, revealing the (rusty) engine inside (photo #6 shows part up close). Just as I was taking the last photos, swallows started dive-bombing the boat, making for a great final pic :) The hooded dude in photo #3 might be the wizard from the tower… or maybe not

It was clearly my tower, but I came down because of the strong winds…
